Fishing with Grandson

My grandson Aiden and I went out on a party boat yesterday. We left from Niantic CT and headed across Long Island Sound to Plum Island, NY. We started fishing and Aiden got the first fish, a bluefish about 20". He also got the 2nd,3rd,4th,5th,6th,and 7th to build a 7-0 lead to embarass Poppop. All were bluefish, one was 29" and was the pool leader for most of the day. He also had a 28 3/4" blue. I wasn't worried because I knew I was going to get the 40" striper. Well I got 3 bluefish, but never did get that striper. Somebody got a 29 1/2 bluefish to win the pool and Aiden took 2nd and 3rd place which wins nothing . We had a great day and will do it again a few more times this summer. Lousy picture of Aiden and fish, but as we all know without a pic it's only a story.

Nothin wrong with that photo. Blues can be a ton of fun. You ever eat em? They're pretty good smoked with a glass of cold beer.

Don't know of anything that doesn't go well with a cold beer. We didn't keep any, I would have kept a striper. It would have had to be in the 28"-35" slot to be legal. I have had bluefish smoked and it is good. I have also grilled it with mayonnaise which cuts the oily taste.

Yes Grizz we do always have a good time together. He is a Yankee fan, I brought him up right.

Yes you did brother. Long time yankee fan. Been to both stadiums. Liked old one best i think. If they don't get their heads outa their butts they won't even make the playoffs.

That was the plan OJ. Actually, he's just gotten so good because he had such a great teacher.

Also been to both stadiums. Need to take Aiden, wanted to last year but covid derailed those plans. They do need to turn it around, looked bad yesterday and tonight against the hated Bosox.

Giants fan here. Because that's the only baseball league left. Y'all can have that American League arena ball where the managers don't have to think, just fill in the line up.
