The one that got away :(

Weatherman said 80% chance of rain and you know I can’t resist that, so back at em again today. I’ll post a photo of today’s fish, but first let me tell you about the one that got away. I’m still pouting about it. I hooked into a trout that was HUGE, and when I say hooked into it, I mean that literally. I’ve never snagged a fish before and I do believe I got this one in his back. I started hollering for hubby that I’d caught a monster because that fish was so heavy my arms were starting to hurt from fighting him. He shot down stream into some current and I could hear my reel and line just whizzing away. But that beauty jumped a few times and I saw him in all his splendor!!! Man, what a monster! By this point hubby is near me, tells me I’ve snagged him, and I hand my rod over to the fish whisperer….who lost my beast of a trout in about 32 seconds flat.

Dear LadybugMichelle: I wonder if you ever heard of Junior Samples, of HeeHaw? He got his start on a radio program telling of a fishing story where he caught the largest fish ever recorded in his community, but told about "the one that got away!"

You might be interestered in joining us, The Fishing Forum on our Zoom storytelling gig. The next session in July 11, 7:00 CST. We usually start about 6:30 PM to make sure to be able to handle any log on problems anyone might have. I would love to have you. You are not required to tell a story unless you fell like it.

Give it some thought and send me a Personal message and I will supply the log on numbers and password.

Now the question is .... are you going to hand off the rod next time? He may whisper but maybe some fish need a yodeler or a screamer...

That’s a super sweet offer RJS and truly appreciated, but in all honesty I’ll more than likely be out on the river with no phone service. ❤️

What river is that you're fishing? Is it fly fishing only? It looks so beautiful.
