Barter deal for 80’s Alumaweld drift boat and trailer. boat fine, trailer not so much. Both leaf springs broken, thin channel frame rusted thru and bent. Fender was held on with a bungee. New tires tho. Gonna reuse tounge and axle/tires. Cut tounge back to first crossmember and build new frame with rectangular 2”x3” 1/8th. Fenders not sure yet.
Your gonna enjoy that drift boat once the trailer is ready! Those aluminum styled rigs are bullet proof! Fun way to get down a river and take your time poking around for hungry fish! Let us know how the trailer re-build works out!

You might check with one of your local horse trailer or camping trailer dealers. Ours here. Carry a number of different size fenders instock just like what’s on that old trailer, and you just weld them on.

You’ve got seriously better skills than I possess. Looking forward to the finished product!
More determination than skill, $2k to $3000 for a new one. New leaf springs, hangers, and axle tie plate kit plus steel for frame I should get stronger than original with hopefully about same weight by cutting the tounge from all the way back to first crossmember for about $300. Hot out gonna be 110 by Monday but i just got my starting point
Aw, nuts, you're too late! Just a few years ago, I gave away a pair of fenders that would've been perfect for you! Oh, well.
Here's a possible suggestion: After the trailer is all built, clean it up (especially wherever it's welded) with an angle grinder and a wire wheel. Then spray the whole thing with cold galvanizing compound. It goes on gray and looks like primer, but it has a lot of zinc in it. You'll notice when you pick up a can that it's a lot heavier than the same sized cans of plain old paint. I used to install weather sensor systems at airports, and this stuff was REALLY good at preventing rust. To make it tougher against scratches and scuffs, you can paint over it with enamel. Camouflage your trailer??
Also: Harbor freight has LED trailer light kits. My trailer lights has been SO much less trouble since I did away with old fashioned bulbs and went to LED's!

Yup, LEDs only way too go, got tired of new bulbs every time i put in whether i unplugged or not my last leds 10 yrs no issue. Thanks on the fenders anyway, my family just threw some new ones out also. I usually mix 20% ratio xylene with rustoleum and spray everything. Boats, horse trailers, metal front doors, used on my old boat looked good 10 yrs later heavy use. Gets harder mixed but I’ll check out the cold galvanize..used zinc chromate (green death) back in the day on the CG ship works great not so good for you, thats how you know it works good.....

I used these on a water trailer. I heated them with weedburner torch then spray painted. They were 60 for two few years ago. You can walk on them. Even guy like me or Pluto on Popeye can walk on them. I welded 1/4 inch angle iron on front and back to attach with a weld to trailer. Super Duty. No bending no metal brake needed no trip to steel supply. Beyond easy
Northern Tool
40 bucks for submersible LED Boat trailer lights at Harbor Freight.
Six Roblees or Six States also carry trailer accessories in PDX
