I booked a party boat trip for Friday. Called before I booked, wanted to make sure we would be fishing for stripers and bluefish, not bottom fishing. Connecticut has a slot size to keep striped bass 28"-35". When I called and asked how the fishing was they said they've been throwing a lot of fish back. The fish have all been too big! What a problem. They said today they caught a 43" and a 40". Grandson and I went to the lake this morning. He caught only fish, a Largemouth about 6". We didn't get it mounted. Have a great day guys and gals. Hopefully I'll send pics Friday night.
Have fun with your grandson Yankee, nothing better than to pass on your passion. Loaded with stripers and blues(surprisingly because the blues have not been around for the last few years), let us all know how you make out.

No the blues haven't been around last few years. Years ago you couldn't catch a striper because you couldn't get a bait or even a shiny tin can past the blues they were so thick. Tried to take grandson last couple years but we always ended up bottom fishing because there weren't any blues or bass . I'm looking forward to Friday.

Yeah Fred I'm glad he caught one. But believe me it wasn't anything to brag about. Even he didn't think so. We're going on the Sunbeam. Gone with them and been happy. Hope to send pics

Just checked the reports from The Fisherman, Stripers from schoolies to over slot length are still around all the usual places. The Yellow eyed Devils have thinned out a little since last week, but they're still around.
Good luck, we'll be waiting for the pictures.
Good luck yankeeblue. I hope your grandson gets a keeper.

Thanks FD. Pics will tell
Good luck Yankee blue hope you and the grandson catch some my stripers and make some memories 😁👍
Have fun Yankee! I know you’ll catch something decent! Strippers have been solid in the western sound where I live. I love blue fishing (and blues music) I went drop and crank blue fishing on a charter boat in the sound on a charter a few years ago and the boat caught 110 fish. They put up a great fight. Good luck!!!
