Help with advice on boat hole repair

I was wondering if anyone has suggestions to help me. I have an aluminum Jon boat. Over the years various equipment was mounted on it by drilling holes on the side. Rod holders, anchor crankers, and other stuff. When you remove them you are left with bolt holes. Now the boat is not going to sink from them just a little unsightly. I thought about carriage bolts because of the smooth round head but that leaves a protruding nut on the end. I thought about pop rivets but they have that little nub sticking out. Has any of you dealt with this? I like to ask because just when you think you did good you see or hear about a better way. Thank you for any help.

Use solid aluminum rivits like the manufacturer used on th ribs. Just stick in hole, hold a large hammer on the big side and peen it over from the other side.

See youtube aluminum boat repairs. Replace rivets, hi-strength putty/5200 bonding to aluminum welding too!
