I have a crazy idea to troll for grouper in an area not know for that.
I live near Cape Canaveral Inlet. We fished it this weekend and had lots of hits from mangrove snapper to pin fish. The fish are hearty there. So I’m thinking there are some really nice Gag grouper laying up somewhere. Has anyone ever trolled an inlet? And do you have any tips. The water is 12 ft on the edge and 75ft in the middle. I can feel them around I know they are they have an infinite food supply and being ambush predators or just darn lazy I think I can snag some. If anyone has any tips would be appreciated! “Fish On!!”

Thanks man. I actually read that before I posted lol. I’m not sure if the water body makes a difference. I’m fishing the mouth of a locked river. Cape Canaveral. It’s really different than the Bay. I wasn’t sure if anyone had ever tried something like this. It’s a cruise ship lane. With only bulk heads on the shore line. There is no known mid structure. For grouper there has to be structure. Have a great week thanks again for the comment.

Body of water shouldn't matter. The same techniques that work in Tampa should work where you are. The channel edges are the structure. That's where the fish will hold.
