I am having a lot of difficulty with getting my lures through lily pads I have probably lost 3 or 4 lures already to them. I have tried fishing top water and weedless lures (for pike) but no luck . Is there any tips on how to get through them or how to get unsnagged from them that u could give me . Any help would be gr8

Try Texas-rigged worms, Johnson silver spoon, and frogs.

You might try using heavy braided line like 50 lb so you won't loose your lures. If you get bite need it to get fish out.

I am with Elmwood21, but I use 85 lb. Can tear right thru the pads.

I like to use spinnerbaits in lilly pads. They rarely get snagged.

I agree with JerryW - atleast 50# braided and spinnerbaits work good in lilypads. A lot of times I use live bait. Once the fish is on, you will be thankful for that heavy line.

As with the 2 gentlemen before me spinner baits are great in lilly pads. Also can use weightless Texas rigged worms and lizards. They will mostly float on the water and can be pulled up on the lilly pad leaves. I you leave some of the bait hanging off of the leaf it entices the bass to take it. EXPERIMENT!!!!!
