Would you guys and gals think a pole saw with the saw part cut off work as a push pole. Its telescoping and fiber glass. I could put an end on it so its like a push pole.

As long as you don’t push too hard…Why not?

Ditto with OJ, why not improvise rather than buying something brand new that will still get the job done just as well.

Not good WH. I read a article about that. A father n son was fishing when storm rolled in. Ironic the sin was holding a Berkley lighting rod. Bolt hit rod knocked both in the water. Son got some burns both survived. The pic of the rid n reel was unbelievable. Water n golf courses bad place in storm. I have a long wooden push pole. Bamboo works if you find it. Have a great day with grandson πŸ˜„πŸ˜„πŸŽ£πŸŽ£πŸŽ£

Never a good idea to hold onto a β€œlightening rod” in a storm. πŸ˜‰

That's not fiberglass Grizz, it's graphite which does conduct electricity pretty much as well as copper. Main reason I carry a lightning app on my phone when I fish. Anything within 20 miles and the alarm goes off.

Fiberglass won't conduct electricity but graphite does. It was ironic it happened to be a lighting rod. I head for the ramp when storms are coming. I enjoy a good fish fry but i don't want to be on the menu πŸ‘πŸ‘

Does that app cost anything and what is it called?

They had those at a few of the ball fields Brody played at Fly. People don't realize how far a lighting bolt can travel. Also many types of lightning bolts. I've been fascinated with lightning since i was little. Mother nature n her wonders πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜ƒπŸ˜ƒ

The one I'm using now is a website lightningmaps.org. I just load it in any time there's a possibility of boomers. Set it up to beep if there's a strike in range. It's fun to watch the screen when there's a storm. You see the location as a dot on the map and it beeps. Then it shows the sound wave moving out when the wave hits where you are you'll hear the thunder. Maybe about a 5 sec delay for transmission time.
