Pflueger President reel size question

I'm looking for an all-purpose spinning setup for catching everything from crappie, to bass, to channel catfish. Which Pflueger President reel size should I go with? I think either the 3000 or 3500.

Fredfish Loc: Prospect CT.

Any rod that will handle a 20 or 25lb Channel Cat, would not even feel a 1lb Crappie. In fact the Catfish bait might be bigger than that..
