Anyone around Sac Yuba City area familiar with this year's shad run? Is it over or is there still a possibility of catching some on, say the Feather or the Yuba?

Bunch of them here Spiritof27. If you feel like a days drive can go in several places but I know it’s a long drive buddy. I’m figuring I will go a time or two more to get more crab bait.

Yeah, I saw your post. It kinda rang a bell, so I'm wondering about down here. I know the Vietnamese folks down here hit em hard, so maybe not so many of us round eyes. Mostly bass fishermen.

If you come up here I will take you Spiritof27. Hopefully you can get into them there. Bank fishing can be effective but I think in a boat is easier because you set rod in holder once lure is where you want it. Bank fishing for them is a constant cast basically like flossing for sockeye. Sockeye and Shad are both plankton eaters

I've fished for them both ways, from a boat is way easier. Used to use a fy rod - 3wt with shad darts - just let the line run in the current off the stern. 2 pound shad on a fly rod in current - loads of fun. Thanks for the offer. Where you at in Oregon?
