The problem we all have when first start using frogs is out of habit we tend to set the hook 🪝 right away when hit 😆 with frogs you have to let the fish 🐠 get a good hold on the lure then set hook 👍🙏🎣

I watched a Roland Martin where he suggested to bend the hooks on a frog up and out just a little bit, but not far enough to make not be weedless. D Tong is right if you can, give a 2-3 second delay before setting hook. I am still trying my best to do that! LOL Sometimes it is so hard to resist setting the hook right away.

You are all correct from my prospective. My Grandpa told me the Same thing 55 years ago in regards to Poppers and the Frog lures at the time!

You should always try to delay setting the hook when fishing top water key word there is TRY hard to when you see that EXPLOSION
