All captions so very true. I can often be found in the "this is what I caught" category!

ReelT,

Hah...that's terrific! What a hoot it can be to experience the voracious appetite of a small fish! I think many of us have stories about the "smallest" fish we have ever caught...to compliment the "largest fish" stories! Of course we rarely get a photo of those incidents....

The photo I posted happened on a day that my wife and I were out in the boat, jigging for perch. I felt a subtle nibble and as usual struck back, only to have this little rascal nearly hit me in the forehead on it's way upwards! I said, "honey, you've got to get a snapshot of this gobie...it's just too cute"! She knows my sense of humor well and gladly consented.

Here is a quick story about "deliberately" fishing for tiny fish. Was visiting family in Columbus, OH one day many years ago. I happened to have a 3 weight fly rod with me and I noticed that a ditch next to their rural home was loaded with minnows. Sizes ranged from an inch to about 3 inches max. I tied on a #22 sized nymph, dropped it in and "bingo"...hook and line "catching" of minnows that would have made great perch bait! The kids, and even grown ups, all had a try and were successful. We caught a full limit...whatever that might have been! The best kind of entertainment is "free"!

That is a great shot of your's as well! Memories of fishing trips contain all sorts of components! Thanks for sharing!
