Can’t agree with you more Randy, don’t get me wrong, I do love perch and walleyes but my taste buds prefer gills and craps as far as freshwater fish go. Saltwater I don’t think it gets any better than sea bass.

Must be why i see so many on here. Never ate them as a kid, guess i really missed out there also.

They are also about the hardest fighting fish, pound for pound, that I’ve ever caught. Lots of fun on ultralight tackle. My son even uses a microlight rod when we fish for bluegills. A couple years ago, we were bluegill fishing at the Strip Pits when he got hold of a nice bass - on his microlight. I was laughing so hard, I nearly fell out of the boat. He finally got it in and weighed it - 3+ lbs!! He couldn’t even keep his rod tip out of the water! It was a blast.

Nice catch! They make your hand look quite small...nice big panfish for the fryer! Glad you got into them!
