Ought this Bubba Blade 4 blade interchangeable knife set
Got to use it a few “too few” times this season and I’ll share my opinion
1 The case is really nice . Looks to be pretty rugged , tasteful and the form fit moulded blade holders hold blades securely by form fit and an added magnet.
It also has a mesh pouch to store things like sharpeners, knife glove etc
2 handles interchange blades very safely and easily. And they have a comfortable ergo fit. The handle material is “grippy” even wet
3 The blade selection is interesting.
What I’d hoped for is interchangeable blades for filleting fish from big Walleye thru bluegill
What is contained is a 7” taper flex ( my fav), an 8” ultra flex, A 9 inch stiff and a 9 inch serrated flex
This kit will literally fillet a mess of crappie , then turn around and process an elk.
4 the blades are very sharp and seem to hretain an edge pretty good . With the 7” flex taper , I’ve cleaned probly 35 fish including a couple dozen nice walleye , a coho my buddy got and a mess of crappie
Didn’t really need sharpened. But I did give it a couple swipes on the crock stick and super sharp.
The flexibility or lack thereof is appropriate for each blade. The tapered fled has ideal flexibility for most of my filleting . The ultra flex scoops out wallet cheeks really well . This blade would be great for cleaning a mess of perch
5 clean up is a snap. I’ve dunked mine in cooler water and wiped it off with a paper towel
Summary, I like this set a lot. Very convenient and cheaper than buying 4 individual knives. The case make transportability a snap.
It’s got blade variety that can fill just about any fish cleaning situation I’ll likely ever encounter
AND they send a Bubba sticker to slap on the side of the tackle box or took box
PS. I sometimes still reach for my ole wood handled rapala fillet knife .That things cleaned hundreds of fish, peeled hundreds of pounds of potato’s , chopped onions , cut up chickens , sliced hundreds of pounds of jerky
. I’ll never part with it
Good to know. Do they offer the blades you feel you may be missing to add later?
I’ve heard the Bubba blades are awesome with edge retention but if I picked up any more fillet knives my wife would go ballistic. I’ll have to make due with my current stock which is sufficient, for the time being that is.

One good filled knife is all I need no more fish than I catch it would never wear out
Get a good quality knife and take care of it, it should last a lifetime and then some. The key is taking care of it. My old wood handled Rapala, that I got from my father, is probably from the fifties or older and still filets any fish I put it to.
I've used my Bubba rechargeable knife for over a year now. It is a good thing it has two battaries. I only get through 7 of a 8 fish catfish limit before the first battery goes dead. I might need to sharpen my blades, because I couldn't get it to fellet some trout last winter that froze on the way home from Ice fishing. And my regular old wood handled rapala cut through just fine by hand. But over all, I love it. I keep it behind the back seat of my truck so I always have it.
Thanks for your insight! I have an old rapala that I bought when I was a kid. It’s still my favorite!

Bubba blade will cut your cleaning time in half. Have fillet dozens of gills at one time and never ran out of battery.

Awesome report! I bought the Bubba Cordless set a few months ago too. Love it. It replaced my old Mr. Twister (Green and Yellow Electric Fillet Knife) that finally broke down after over 15 years of use! Like you, I also still use my Rapala fillet knife that my Dad passed onto me :-) Love it!!!
