I love okra! But I've never grilled it for some reason. Probably because around here if you don't grow your own, it's pretty tough to find fresh. It all looks great.

Now how's that for some kind of coincidence! My wife and I just got back from our local supermarket and picked up a fresh rack of ribs about that same exact size to grill on Monday. Our local asparagus is in season so we picked that up farm fresh too. Both will be done on the grill! Looks like our minds were on the same wavelength today! Enjoy your supper!

So that's where Asparagus is grown. Doesn't it take a couple years to reach maturity? I love that stuff

Never really thought about the geography for where asparagus is grown, but it is a really big deal around these parts. They even have a small "festival" to honor it...held near the town of Empire, MI. Not sure about the growth times, but I think it is a lot like rhubarb...which I believe just comes up once each year and seems to "re-seed itself" as well?

If you dine out at any of our local restaurants right now, asparagus will be the vegetable of choice to compliment any meal...even a bowl of corn flakes (just kidding!).

I only like the top half of a stalk. When it' get's down low I find it a bit on the chewy and pulpy side...sort of like a stalk of celery.

Looks tasty Sinker. I like okra but lynn hates it so I only get it if I order it at a restaurant.
