I’ve heard a lotta people say surf fishing is harder than jetty fishing I still haven’t got a solid answer to this What are your thoughts?

It depends on the jetty, some are easy to navigate and some are killers There is more structure and fish off of a jetty than the surf. I can't see anything hard about surf fishing except getting out there and getting. back in. Some places you can drive right out there to the surf. So it all depends.
Depends on what you mean by "hard". It is often more difficult to find and catch fish in the surf but jetty fishing can be very physically demanding and at times dangerous. Surf fishing among rocks however can be just as difficult. A sandy beach by comparison is certainly easier to fish but finding the fish can be difficult. Jetties provide wonderful structure for forage and tend to concentrate fish so it may be "easier" to locate and catch fish when jetty fishing. Both jetties and the surf can provide excellent fishing depending on the tide, current, time of day, etc. Find the bait and you will find the fish. Check out John Skinner's books on surf and jetty fishing. Tom Lutton

what are some of the surf fishing places that you can drive right up to. I'm 73 so dont need the excitement of navigating jetties.

Oh, there many of them all along the Gulf Coast from So. FL to So. TX. Check out the State Parks along the Coastline. The problem with that is that you have to give your vehicle a good bath underneath and it is best if you have a 4 X 4, so you don't get stuck. Wreckers that will go out on the beach to pull you out are pricey, a lot of them won't do it.
