I've just started swimbait fishing this year and would love some feedback on what knots you use for the best action. Loop knots? Knots snug to the eyelet? The only knot I'd ever used until now was just 6 twists then loop back around and through. This seem to not work well with 35 lb floro. Anywho just lookin to learn. Thanks in advance!

I fish BIG swimbaits ( 2-8oz ) and use the advanced clinch knot and sometimes use a clip on large glide baits. That said, 35lb floro is a bit excessive! The heaviest id ever go is 25lb but I usually stay between 15-20lb. Also, the heavier the line the less twists. I typically do 4 twists with my knots...

Tackle Warehouse. Savage Gear makes some really nice BIG swimbaits that won’t break the bank!

I really like the line through baits! The jointed baits ( line through trout/shad ) have amazing action.... very life like!

My bad, thought you talking about big plastics, gonna try a grub teaser with a wavy tail on these jigs

Spro Best jigs there are if you notice under the hair is a bait keeper which most other jigs of that type don't have. A white jig was so effective the army packed one with a bit of line in the pilot emergency kit. They figured a pilot could catch a fish with one. That jig (larger size) is a killer for stripers with a piece of eel on it. They fall quickly so use the lightest one you can get away with under your conditions.

I would use a a clinch knot with two turns through the eye. I agree with the other responder. Your line is way to heavy(20lb max). Your problem is also trying to do 6 twists on such heavy line.

I like the 1/4 oz or even 3/16ths and as I said Spro has a keeper to help keep your trailer on. Been a great producer for as long as I can remember.

I'm using 4oz so I can get it down in strong current, plus the rockpiles are about 40yds off the pier so I need that just to get out there
