This nation exists and is free because so many over the past 200+ years thought that the people living here were a worthwhile thing to put their lives on the line for. It seems to me to be worthy to note that none who died did so because they wanted to die, they did so because they believed that our country was a worthwhile thing to defend. To honor their memory on this day I shed my tears and offer my prayers. To all of you who served and returned whether in peacetime or war I honor you with my heartfelt gratitude, my constant support, and my continual prayers. For what you have done, for what you have sacrificed you have my love!

GW, my thoughts exactly but you’ve expressed it much more eloquently than I’m able to. My dad was in the Marines for 12 years during WW2 and Korea and I think of him often but even more so on this day.
