I hope you do too. I’m, actually, originally from Wyoming. Born and raised there. Where abouts is the tag you put in for. My oldest son hunts down around Rock Springs every year and gets a good one. Both of my boys till live in Wyoming and are hunting fools. The oldest one is moving here to Idaho soon though. Not much for antelope in my area but we sure have everything else. Elk, deer, bear, mountain lions, wolves bobcat you name it. The moose are a little more scarce now because of the wolves but there’s still some around here and there. Lots of black bear here. Plenty of everything else but you can’t go bear hunting without getting a chance at, at least, one any time you wanna go out. I’ve nearly hit them on the road several times.

That happens a lot here. We can get 5 wolf tags here as a resident per year but they’re smart. Not easy to get close enough to shoot one. They know people are not good to stand around and look at so they’re usually running full bore when ya see one. I’ve seen several here but a LONG ways away and usually on a dead run cuz they saw me before I saw them. Big ones here too. Over 200 pounds. These were taken just north of us about 4 miles for k*****g cattle. They’re not good to have around.

Showed the wife all she could say they get that big??
At least you can shoot one if you get a chance. Here in California Newsome shut down hunting Bobcats this year.!!
If we go out of state to hunt for a Mountain Lion , we can't even have it mounted and keep it here in California!!!
Thanks for the pictures.
Glad you live in a state that likes H****r's.
If you are ever in North Central California I'll take you fishing 🎣 for Bass or Trout in the lakes up here

Sounds like a great plan to me. Any fishing is great in my book. I fish for a living so if you’re ever down this way I can hook you up too. Pun intended. Lol. I fish the Snake River for predator fish but I catch lots of walleye, Chanel cats and blue cats. Salmon, steelhead and bass. Not many trout in the Snake River to speak of but we have lots of them here close to home in the big salmon and little salmon rivers. Fishing is no good for much of anything in the rivers here after September until May but it’s good when it’s good. We have some good lakes here too for jumbo perch and various trout and bass. Those fish came out of Cascade lake here in Idaho. The trout is a Kamaloop. Not native here but dang good eatin. I’ll take em over salmon and steelhead any day. I missed the world record with that perch last year by less than one inch and 5 ounces.

Nice !!
I would love to catch a Steel head or a salmon ,lve caught in lock salmon here in the lakes by Trolling ! It's not the same as in the river that I know .
Where you are at do you Mule deer and whitetail deer?
How is the fight with the perch with light line?
I can talk all day about hunting and fishing. Stated fishing and hunting when I was able to hold a gun and a fishing pole!!
And have never lost the love for it and taught my boys it's not always pulling the trigger or hooking a fish, it's loving the outdoors.!!
And know the bonus of all this l'm teaching my two grandsons now. And loving ever mim. of it
I'm a lucky man.
Andy
Have a good day

Yup. Mule deer and white tail both.
Those big perch will put the bend on a two foot ice rod with 4 pound mono on it for sure. They’re hard fighters and will fight for quite a while in the cold water. You have to get a little creative to get em up through the hole in the ice for sure. We lose several. We use a little tiny tungsten jig with a wire hook about 1/4” long. It’s a challenge to say the least.
You’re right. There’s hunting and fishing and then there’s catching or harvesting. The hunting and fishing is the best part for me. I’ve taught my kids and grandkids the same thing and they all enjoy the outing whether they bring anything home or not. My favorite part about fishing is watching the sun go down on a still body of water after not catching a thing all day. Hunting is the same way. I notice the birds singing, the squirrels running around, the breeze blowing through the pine trees and the silence. Filling a tag is the last reason I go hunting.

I feel the same way ,
Last yr. Before my knee surgery I went duck hunting with my two son and two grandson they are 12 and 11. I was in heaven !! When the morning shoot was over I told the boys I'm the luckiest papa around and my two grand sons ask me why ? We were sitting in the blind and I told them because I was hunting with them and their dads and that this is a special morning 🌄. I use to hunt and fish, with my grand father and my Dad when I was growing up. And now I'm doing it with my grandsons.
Have a good day and holiday 😊 and safe one have to get the boat ready for to morrow one of my sons is coming up for the
Weekend so I'll be fishing with both of them!!
Enjoy texting with you .
