I don't think we're allow to keep that many out here in California.
I know with trout we can only have 2 days limit in your possession. That includes your freezer at home.
But again, that's trout and California.

IDK the limit on crappie here, probly around 25, give or take. So that should be bout 50 fish you could have per person/license. IF the same holds true for all the different species of fish.

Twag, that’s a lot of crappies. They are prolific little rascals but don’t wipe out your honey holes.

We are allowed 30 each day per person. There are so many ranging from 7” to 17”. That is what I see. It’s always a great time in our spring! First crappie, then bass, then bluegill.

Hey Twag. I checked and Ohio doesn't have a possession law so you can transport several days limit home with you from a trip.
Good for you brother. Guess we'll all be at your house for the Holiday fish fry.

Here possession limits mean what you have in the field. Not what you caught 4 weeks ago, and put in your freezer.

Not here in California. Possession means both. Daily LIMIT out in the field. Possession is what you actually have, period. So the people campin out in their motorhome at the lake/river can only have 2 days limit in their motorhome.
Same goes for your house also.
Very doubtful some game warden is gonna come check your house though. Unless they get a tip from somebody that you were blatantly breakin the law. I guess it would kinda be the same as poachin.
That happens a lot out here with clams and use to be with abalone too.

Everyone I know who eats their catch, has a ton of fish in their freezer. That's what they eat during the winter, if they don't ice fish.
Our definition of possession limit :"Total number of fish that may be possessed by one person either on the person, on the waters of the state, the shores of these waters, or in any type of vehicle and may not exceed the creel limit for one day for each species. Note that this does not restrict the number of legally acquired fish that may be kept in storage at home ".

Wow, that's great. Wish we had that out here. But what else would you expect from California.
