Just a quick question...

So I picked up a light rod for targeting smaller fish and however when I try to fish it with a light rig, when I cast my line gets all tangled at the reel because there isn’t enough weight on the line. Anyone know how to stop this?

Depends on if using a spinning reel or baitcast. If spinning reel you have to match your line test with your lure weight, lighter bait would need 2-4 lb test. I will also say quality of line helps. If using a baitcast then you have to follow guide for line test and bait weight. A good quality bait cast can be set up for about any weight it just takes some trail and error. Hope helps good fishing

Sounds like ur line is fouled on reel. Sugguest you unroll all the line and then load under pressure all the line (keep it tight as you're reeling it). Good luck fishing, be safe use floation gear even if uknow how to swim.

John might have the answer....I always put my line supply roll on a dowel support and ran the line thru a big book pages and thru the guides on the rod......this put some pressure on the line going on to the reel.....DO NOT USE TOO MUCH....JUST RESISTANCE.......with a small deflection on the rod tip.....seems to load line properly and I have no problem...( spinning reels)
