Unless the prop is bent, it's good for now, have run much worse.

It’s not bent. I’m most likely going to hold off on changing it. Thanks for the input.

One of those things that need to be replaced so might as well do it now. It will vibrate and possibly rough ride your lower unit.

Plan a short trip and see how it feels. If you don't notice anything out of the ordinary I would let it ride.

Find a welder with the right set up it can be repaired for way less than a replacement.

Barrelomonkeys is right. A good welder can build it right back up. Also a lot of the boat dealers have used ones for sell.

I would replace this prop. Check out boattest.Com for advice on all things boating. There is a plethora of issues (according to capt’n Steve) that damages like yours can telegraph into, the least being really poor performance. Gotta ask, what’s this prop attached to...i.e. boat and motor?

It isn't balanced. Watch a ceiling fan when it is out of balance....watch what it does to the shaft. You are asking for trouble if you don't replace it. Cheaper than fixing the troubles that will come because of it.

A lot of the vibration will be absorbed by the mesh gear and down shaft . With that being said the bearing will vibrate and wear out the alum. housing next step is replacing the foot, mesh gears, housing, shafts, seals, and some other parts . It all depends WHEN you decide to change it.

Change, soon. And I wouldn't waste money on welding an aluminum prop. I have had a stainless steel prop welded and balanced, and the cost was much cheaper than a new on but about the cost of a new aluminum one. All the advice you received about the damage an unbalanced and unevenly loaded prop is spot on.

there is a welder in Danville, Pa. that can repair it, and it will be like new.

Get rid of it, it's not good on your bearings because it's unbalanced. Go stainless, spend the extra money, better performance.
