I just got one yesterday and heading out in the morning for 4 days at Mohave and Havasu in a kayak. More than anything I want to know depth so I'll let you know later in the week.
Check out the Deeper Smart Sonar. This has potential for Boat, Kayak, or Bank Fishing. I haven't bought one YET.

I've used mine several times in a kayak recently and I love it. Same batteries after 4-5 days, gives me depth and tracks plenty of fish. Can't beat that at $45!
