Update for my absence. The knee surgery is going good and I can do most anything now. The eye surgery (cataract and Glaucoma) that I have been blessed with enjoying since March 16 took another dive on Monday. Pressure escalated to 31. It took 4 weeks after the surgery to get it from 2 up to 4 and another 3 weeks to get it up to 8. Doc was happy with that advancement. That was last Thursday. Monday the throbbing pain increased all day and Tuesday I rushed over to see the doc. He scrambled and threw in a bunch of drops and after a couple hours the pain subsided and the pressure dropped to 22. So we changed meds again and it seems to be helping. Vision is still just a blurry mess but he says in another 3-4 weeks it should start clearing up. Hope he’s right!!
In the mean time, my back that I had surgery on 40 + years ago, started acting up. Guess the spine had a mind of its own and started migrating to a new zip code. The pinched nerves were causing a burning sensation on the top of my foot that nearly debilitated me. Didn’t do anything for over a month (couldn’t even sleep) till they finally figured out what was going on. More meds to control that sensation along with the knee and eye and that’s when a great member gave me some insight (thanks again Fred) so I dropped off the forum (I cheated and glanced now and then with the good eye). Looks like back surgery might be on the agenda in the future. Two specialist are looking it over. Should know next week what they figure out.
Doc gave me permission (with stipulations) to go fishing today. Well the new meds threw me for a loop last night. I had to cancel. Buddy sent me this this so thought I would update my status and post his catch first thing this am. Hope you enjoy as much as I did because of my absence. Better days ahead!! Take care my forum friends and may God take care of you all till I can get back and throw my crap at you all.

I thank my wife for typing this for me and doing all she does during this stage of life. It was ‘48 years’ on May 1. Patient LADY!!!

I've only fished Newton a couple of times all I have caught there are crappie. I haven't been out at all this year too much to do around the yard. Hope to go sometime soon.

I think you have played the eye game if I remember correctly. Think you still have the pleasure of using the drops for the pressure?? I had to keep mine dilated for nearly two months. Dark glasses were my friend and still are. The meds for the back make me dizzy which goes great with a blurry eye and dark glasses!! 🤪🤪 Better days ahead! Take care my friend. Duane

Thank you. I’m an ornery old SOB so it will take a back seat. They say things come in three’s. So my stint should be over - knee, eye, back. 🙏🙃

Yes was using drops, but the Doc told me about another procedure that had a lot of success, but a few it didn't work for them. They used a laser to work, I think, on the drain at back of eye. At the end, my pressure is down to consistently at 8/9.

Yes sir, I was one of those lucky ones the Laser didn’t work on. Then when he put a stint in it went haywire and has been fun for the past couple months. Hope this last bout takes care of it. We thought all was good when after nearly two months the pressure hit the 8-9 range. That was on last Thursday but come Monday it decided to show me what 31-32 felt like. Not my favorite pressure!! The Dorzolamide-Timolol seems to be working but the eye is extremely sore to any touch and a lot of times when I blink. I try not to blink very often. Doc said that should go away after a week or so. Only three days on the med so nearly half way there😜😜. Hope is is correct on that. 😗
