I caught this little guy on a Lindy Rig/fathead fishing for walleye on a Twins Cities Metro area lake. It has interesting color pattern that I have not seen before. I'm thinking definitely Muskie, and perhaps a Tiger. Any input would be great! Not much luck with walleyes (one small one), but plenty of bass and large crappie action! There is always a new lake and another day! Hope your opener was great!

Welcome to the Forum, Greg, sorry, I can't help you. If you find out, let us know. Did you release it?

I believe you're correct Greg, Tigers have either dark stripes or spots on a light background, depending on where they are. The opposite of Northern Pike, which have light spots on a darker background.. Nice catching!

Another point of difference between musky and a true musky is that tigers have rounded fins and muskies have pointed fins (as seen in your fish).
Many metro lakes are stocked with true muskies. They used to stock some tigers, but not so much anymore.
