Hat Creek

I have been fishing in Hat Creek since I was 10 years old . . . that's a long, long time!!!
I usually fish in May and again in October (more hunters, fewer fishermen) . . .
Took a lot of trips with my flatcoat retriever, Tag, who we lost to stomach cancer at age 9 two years ago . . . Hoping to return with my young golden retriever, Molly Rose, in late September or early October . . .
Curious whether we should expect lower-than-normal water levels . . . during previous drought years, the level and flow of Hat Creek didn't seem affected that much . . .
I always find success, mainly because I know where the fish are hiding (not in the expected spots) and I catch-and-release other than keeping the last fish of the day to grill back at Hat Creek Resort . . .

Welcome to the forum Tag. I can’t help you with the water levels since I don’t live in Shingletown any longer. I have fished Hat creek a time or two years ago. Beautiful country. Is that Tag or Molly in the picture? Good luck on the Hat and enjoy that last one of the day.

Both are beautiful dogs.
If you just want to fish for dinner there’s always Grace lake in Shingletown. Other than that I don’t know of any thing else.
