A few weeks ago I posted asking for help and suggestions for knot tying help. As I expected a number of you were there to offer help and I greatly appreciate it. I ordered both Hook Eze and Knot Needle. The hook Eze really only helped to hold a hook while tying the knot, not too much else.
The knot needle has been very helpful and is the winner of this contest. However, some warnings. Watching the app and videos for the knot needle, he seems to want to show how fast he can do it. " I can tie this knot in 10 seconds." Sure, he's been practicing for 2 months! I watched the video a number of times and also watched U Tube several times. After some practice I can now tie the clinch knot real well. The knit Needle really has helped. The weight of the Needle on the tag end makes it much easier to handle if you have fine motor problems with your fingers as I do. Again thanks for the help.

Sorry the Hook Eze didn’t work as hoped, but glad you found a solution.

I don't know what the brand is but this is one I've used for enough years I can't remember the name. Keep it in the little pocket in the fly vest . Once you get the tippet into the eye it take about 10 seconds to tie a clinch.

Send us a picture of this tool. I’m always looking for a better gadget.

Try tying with a shoelace until you see how the knot is actually made easier to see how everything suppose to sit before you try tying 4lb test just saying

I have a knot needle. The only thing I don't like about it is the 4 to 6 inches of tag left over. That is a lot of waste especially when tying flies on florocarbon tippet which is fairly pricey. I bought a Tie-fast Nail Knot tying tool design made by Cortland at WM for about $5.00 bucks. I can secure flies with that tool with very little waste of line . I know the knot needle has the ability to produce nail knots, but the tool is too small for me to use that component well. I will continue to use the knot needle for tying Perfection loop knots and surgeon knots.

I sent the Knot Needle tip and your right the guy invented it and if you notice he always uses limp braid and it is a lot easier than un wieldly mono. Still it helps me also as my hands are very nervous. So far my favorite is the Trilene knot for strength. I also tie the Alberto Knot for braid to flouro very good knot. Always use a non slip loop knot on any lures. In the end the Polamar is easy on a windy day. I keep watching his videos to see if I am missing anything. Good luck. Keep practicing.

I have a knot tying, diamond file, eye opener clip combination tool that I hang from my vest but only use the file much. I like the Davy Knot, the double Davy. But my main problem is using fine tippets and I just can’t feel them and they are hard to see, and so I ordered an eye threading tool from Cabelas to try. Supposed to line up the eye with a slot to run your tippet through. If I ever get a chance to use it I’ll take a picture and write a report.

I am 78 with one eye and a bit of nerve damage to both hands. Despite this I see anchor ropes, plow line etc, fine.
it should be obvious why I enjoy using mycoroscopic flies and invisible leaders. On the rare occasion I use leaders smaller than the average tie-off rope I find magnifying glasses and a tool such as the one above most helpful. As an added bonus I only use one side of the glasses.

Hope this helps, though I hope few of you need it!

Thanks Hemi. I am tying mostly 15# flour. Braid is my mainline but I am prerigging everything on flouro leaders with a loop at the end. I have a swivel and snap at end of my braid. Now I don't have to do any tying while I'm fishing and I can still change lures and plastics. I think it should work but haven't caught yet
