Reckon that the only way we'll know for sure, is to keep breathing Earth Air long enough to find out.

I have a fishing buddy in Homer Alaska who’s been there since 1955. He’s seen the rise and fall of the ocean twice in his 99 years of life. He says “about 20 years from now it’s gonna be a 200 yard walk down to the water again”. The glaciers up there are receding but he’s also seen that twice and when they come back they’re just as thick as they were the last time. He started working up in Alaska when he was 15 then moved there in 1955 full time. It was still Russia then but he said it’s just how the cycles work. At 99 he won’t see the next recovery period but he said “it happens and that all there is to it”. I’d say his person experience is a good source. My other buddies up there are my age and they’ve seen chance as well. Just like everywhere else. The seasons grow and decline. I’m only 65 but I’ve seen Wyoming go from deep freeze to warmer and it’s headed back into freeze mode again.

unfortuneatly Dozer I think you are correct, But I guess it is sort of up to us to try to steer things in a better direction maybe a start would be if we could try to figure what is right and not who is right. Remember when we use to have at least some politicians who would actually honestly try to work together for the good of the country and not their party? But you are correct that is most likely just the "good ole days" not sure it will ever happen again in my life time at least

Yeah, it’s unfortunate that “we the people”
have to pay the price for the games that they play. I feel that we’ve lost our grip as “the people”as it has been showing lately...🐟on

That’s it in a nut shell. Most “links” or “sites” don’t have near the experience those who’ve been there have and they don’t report it right anyway. I’ll listen to someone who’s been there and seen it before I’ll click on a link for “facts”😂

Thanks for the links, DC., I always like to have, and interpret the most resources available on any subject, before I make a judgement call.
Your links were certainly enlightening, however they both have a couple of caveats that give cause to pause.
The first, regarding the polar vortex, is more current (Feb. 13,'21) and leads one to believe that the Arctic is staving off the degradation going on down below in Antarctica. The premise that the swirling of the Arctic polar vortex was "holding back" decimating temps from "sliding south" is cause for hope.....too bad the article was dated TWO DAYS BEFORE THE TEXAS FREEZE, the result of the "swirling" becoming broken down, allowing the catastrophic occurrence !!!

Ironic how that happens, huh ?

Just when you think you know, Momma Nature says..."not so fast, know-it-alls.... howsa'bout a little anomaly to deal with ?"

I'm afraid that the other link is 5 1/2 years old and mostly cites numbers and trends that are nearly 2 decades old.... not exactly CURRENT info. Sure, you can cherry-pick a few stats and make it sound hopeful, but you can also see a lot of speculation on whether "Antarctica's east side gains mitigate the west side losses" and certainly, capitulation on that occurring long-term.
Again, thanks for the links, but I read each article carefully... twice.

And I offer up as evidence of this uncertainty...... the very uncharacteristic spring weather and .... the "PHOOKIN' SNOW" that begat this thread......lol.
