Blue cats of Va.
Hello I'm an avid Blue cat fisherman, been hard at it now for 3 years, mostly fish the James river and Kerr reservoir. I can't seem to break into the giants though, personal best is 45 lbs trying to break into the 80+ club, any advice would be appreciated.
I live near Kerr lake an there have been Virginia state record catfish caught here over the last several years,like 3 different times. the latest I think was 109 lbs caught near Goat Island. From Clarksville, head south on the lake and there is an Island, looks like its cut in two an the 2 guys were fishing on the the other side of that island, using brim. I don't really cat fish that much, just mostly crappie. The further you go away from Clarksville, going towards the dam, the deeper the water gets. Stop by Bobcats on 15 south and they can give you more pointers...good luck!
