" The ultimate touchstone of friendship is not improvement, neither of the other nor of the self, the ultimate touchstone is witness, the privilege of having been seen by someone and the equal privilege of having been granted the sight of the essence of another, to have walked with them and to have believed in them, and sometimes just to have accompanied them for however brief a span, on a journey impossible to accomplish alone." from FRIENDSHIP by David Whyte.

Sometimes a small change in perspective can open great new avenues for personal growth. Just sayin'

This was supposed to be my birthday present to the Stage and I'd have waited til a bit later but I have to take the car to the shop in a couple hours.

" accompanied them for however brief a span " Deep one here Wulffy, and this will get some noggins moving this fine day.

To me sounds like what is presently happening here on the stage. Many have come on board and a few have ventured to other waters, but we have been grated the privilege to have shared our lives in such a short time.

Thus a feat that one can not do alone and that i feel is the sharing of Friendship.

Maybe it's just cuz I'm old but until I read this I rarely thought of the privilege granted to me by someone in allowing me to be their friend and I feel like I have gained many friends here on the Stage.

It's definitely an interesting interpretation of friendship. It does ring true on the Stage.
