Just wanted to ask some people if its safe to transport a 12 ft Kayak on a 2 door car without a roof rack? With just using 2 cam straps and foam blocks. Also do you need to secure the bow and stern for transport?

Having never done this I would certainly secure the bow to protect it from the force of the wind as you drive to where ever you intend to fishs. Jusrt Sayin....RJS
Car roofs are not what they used to be, but if you’re careful it is possible. Definitely secure the front and back to the bumper as the side force could get ugly and a sudden stop may create a torpedo. Be safe and good luck!

I've transported a canoe exactly how you're talking your kayak. Tie it down good and you'll be ok, if it ain't tied down good won't take long to find out.

What kind of distance are you talking about? Local run to the launch or 100's of miles? What the guys say is good for local but for distance you can rent a u haul trailer and have no worries.
Check out Malone roof racks with straps and suction cups. Inexpensive.
What was said about bow and stern ties is really important. Those foam roof top kayak systems work pretty well too. Check your tension often.
As was pointed out by many experienced kayakers, there are two types of people who transport kayaks:
1. The type that have lost a kayak off their trailer or car top
And 2. The kayakers that WILL loose a kayak off their trailer or car top.
Use lots of ties and straps.
No problem. You put the bow and stern out of the drivers and passengers windows. You can carry two canoes if you have a four door.
