Both my pros—Cody Meyer and Fletcher Shyrock made it into the knockout round today. 38 guys shooting for the remaining 8 positions in the championship round tomorrow. This is me weighing Shyrock’s 3.14 yesterday.

That has to be interesting to watch the pros do what they do under all different conditions. Good luck to your guys!

Very interesting. The conditions have changed everyday, including the lake coming up 2.5’ in three days. Water color, cold fronts. So many different things. It makes my whole week learning they way they adapt to these.

Obviously you can’t be in two boats at the same time so do you get to go with one of them or are you assigned a new angler or do YOU even get to “work” the Knockout Round. I bought and fixed a Brecknell scale to be exactly like yours but have not figured out how to take a picture of me weighing the fish when I am by myself!😂 Which is most of the time.

Group A & B get two separate days of fishing. You get one pro in each of the groups. Then, if both pros make the knockout round the hierarchy assigns you to one or the others. Then the championship round is the following day. I had a camera man in the boat with me qhen fletcher caught the fish in the picture I posted.

Hack - It definitely is not cushy, that’s for sure. You are away from home 8 to 9 days at a time. Your days start around 3 am and ends at 7:30 pm, if your lucky. Your are in the boat with the anglers all day—rain or shine. You can watch but they do not want you to ask questions of the anglers or engage them in conversation. It is very taxing on the body.
You have to apply on line any they do an extensive back ground check. Then attend a three day academy in Tulsa Oklahoma; put on once a year in December. Once you attend the academy it is about a month before you get your results— pass/fail.
Then they send you a schedule of the events and you sign up for which ones you are able to attend. Transportation is on your own. The do pay you for your mileage to and from the event and cover the cost of the hotel/motel where you stay; plus a small food per diem each day. You’re time is voluntary, there is no compensation for that.
Of course, I don’t know any other position where you can say you spent a week with the best 80 anglers in tw world.
Hope this answers all your questions.
