At the end of this month we will give Honor and Respect to those who have passed while giving their All for this land.

Hopefully at 3PM wherever you are to take a moment and remember the fallen.

As for the bench, May God be with them that they need not give their All.

To Plumbob, et al
After spending more than 20 years wearing the blue suit, I'll just say thanks to YOU for honoring servicemembers then, now and in the future. Without 'em, just where would we be?

You are welcome Pat. The bench in the picture is located in the Catoctin mountains in Thurmont Maryland at a location called National Shrine Grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes.

It is my go to place where i will walk the grounds and want a re connection with the Lord. I thought is was very nice to see this bench there.

I’m guessing that it is a serene place to walk. I hope you continue to walk there and enjoy the reconnection for many years.

Yes it is Jer, even have my wife likes the place. Very serene and if one ventures off the grounds and continues up the mountain the overlook is beyond breath taking.

It is worth a look on google if you have the time some day.

VERY nice for the bench to be located under the watchful eyes of the blessed virgin. I visited the shrine, years ago when I was with FEMA and had business at Emmitsburg. It left quite an impression. I think it just lacks, oh, maybe a well stocked trout pond! Eh?

Oh my goodness. I looked it up and it looks majestic. I love the mountains and rock outcropping. It’s gorgeous.

Stocked trout pond? Wonder if lighting a candle next trip for that would help. LOL

Impression on the mind and soul for sure. Glad to see that someone so far away got to experience such beauty as well.

Nice commemorative bench, but if you're gonna carve a message in
stone, make sure it's spelled
properly; it's D-I-V-I-N-E, and NOT
'devine' ! If you're gonna leave a permanent marker/memorial, make sure it's correct !
