My friends always told me it was better to make friends with someone that already has a boat than to buy my own. You should get plenty of takers. I bought boats instead. Turns out more people liked my boat than they wanted to be friends with me. If my boat broke down they wouldn’t show up for anything. Not even to help me fix the boat but sure as heck when I got the boat fixed they wanted to be my buddy again. Lol. They only get one shot at that one.

I understand fully. I'd still go fishing with you without the boat and try and help with it, but that's just me.

I've been fortunate with one good fishing buddy.. I've got the boat and gear, and he is there to help anytime I need it. He's grateful for the opportunity to fish big waters he would never be able to do on his own, and I'm grateful for the friendship!

That's what it's like. I'll continue to learn by myself and do the best I can. I know that my equipment is good but I only have cheap Helix 5's but they still work. Thanks

I've had the same fishing buddy over 40 years. We hunt together also. Nothing makes a fishing outing more enjoyable than having a good friend to share the time with. Tight lines.

Bout the only thing better than a long term fishing partner is having a fishing partner that chips in for gas every now and then, or chips in for hotel room, or dinner or beer or the hundreds of lures he loses.
Or doesn’t postpone departure time of a well in advance planned long distance trip by 5 hours.
Or declines to go on a trip of a lifetime unless we bring his wife. Also gratis.

Welcome to my world

See it would be nice to have someone like that. Being on SSDI and in bed mostly for 6 years no one wants anything to with the disabled. So now that I'm getting back to my passion the more help I can get the better. For I haven't taken time to learn leader knots and really like the JG KNOT for the new microguides I use best fluorocarbon lines and braids singly. Now is a great time to get out if you eat fish also in my opinion for the water isn't all nasty and meat is more firm. I don't eat fresh water but the wife does. I must learn to use the good equipment I've invested alot in. Peace
