I'm curious at what everyone else's favorite streamer is. I'm trying to find the fly fishing equivalent of a 2-3in minnow. Im running a 9' 5wt with FWF line.

I like the one that I tie that looks like a minnow. Google it, you will find a recipe.
my favorite minnow copy is a ZOO COUGAR size 4 or 6 in yellow or black . But the joy of fishing is finding out what works on that day in your selected location . Enjoy the trip and fish on .
I'd have to say that If I could only choose a single streamer, it would be a Zoo Cougar as well as far as a pattern goes. I tend to fish mostly for trout and bass, and this single fly will catch any of them on a regular basis. I fish it both under water and on top. Of course you can change size and colors depending on conditions, and it definitely does matter in my experience.
There are so many great patterns that catch fish that it is hard to limit your choices. Sometimes I deliberately fish a pattern that is not a "go to" for me and I still catch fish with it, so maybe it depends on if the fish are hungry when you arrive! It is fun to throw oddball things at fish and still see them go for it, but when they are finicky, I like the Cougar and the old and new variations that surround that particular pattern (like a classic muddler minnow).
I could not resist attaching a single photo of my "top four". I left out a wooly bugger by hasty mistake, which is really a great pattern as well! Should have been the top five! The top fly also has a small stinger hook in the red tail section, riding upwards.

Wooly Bugger and Muddler Minnow
If you can only use one streamer, in my opinion, it would have to be an olive wooly bugger. I have caught trout in the Northeast to the West coast on that one streamer. Of course, there are many, many, more that catch fish. but, besides being the best fish catcher, it is by far, the easiest fly to tie. You would not believe how easy!!!
Welcome to the forum, by the way.

What information do I need to enter into google to locate your favorite streamer minnow recipe?
Black ghost, for a good minnow imitation.
Otherwise, my go to streamers also include black nose dace, Mickey Finn (never fails) and Supervisor. I also agree with Howfisher. The Wooly Buggers are consistent producers.
I have to agree with Jim Kay: Wooly Bugger and Muddler Minnow. Of the two I prefer the Muddler Minnow. Wooly Bugger is my second choice.
The Muddler can also be fished as a surface bait and does well on Bass and Bluegills as well as trout.
