This fish washed up in Hampton VA. Sturgeon??? Not sure. Nothing I’ve ever seen before in the Chesapeake Bay.
Sure looks like a sturgeon.

It's got a cool design and color. The face looks kinda weird. I don't know what it is.

Yes cool but creepy. Thanks
Thanks. It’s creepy so you never now what is swimming at the bottom of the bay.

Definitely a white sturgeon but it looks to have been dead a while for sure.
Looks like a sturgeon. Maybe someone knows if there is a breeding stock in the James, Potomac or Susquehanna Rivers.
Yeah, it's a sturgeon carcass. They're native to the Chesapeake and tributaries, and they're making a comeback, sort of. Very cool!

Just my thoughts.... every sturgeon I’ve ever seen has a vertical tail... This one’s tail appears to be horizontal
According to Wikipedia there are 27 different spices of Sturgeon
Quick check of Maryland fish ID page shows 2 species frequent the Bay, Atlantic and shortnose sturgeons.
