I haven’t fished for them on the Rouge for a number of years now, but used to starting in May, and go till about the middle of June. Jeremy will probably be on here in abit, and he’ll have more info than I have, and more up to date. Good luck Stanley

Not sure where on the Rogue you were planning to fish, but I have only caught chinook and coho in the upper Rogue. However, you can catch kings at the mouth of the Rogue in Gold Beach. Fishing usually starts July to October. Lots of fishing regulations in Oregon so please do your homework. It is a beautiful river and good luck!

Thank you for that information. Other than licensing and limits, is there something else I should know?

If you will be fishing for kings at Gold Beach, you will probably need a boat and the regs are pretty straight forward. If you are fishing farther up the river for salmon/steelhead/trout there are exceptions such as catch and release, barbless hooks, can not keep native fish etc. Pasted a copy of the regs and hope it helps.

Thanks Apollo, thought about the regs. But I don’t know how to do the paste thing.

There are Chinook "Springers" in the estuary now, but haven't heard from my sources of much success getting them to bite.
WE NEED RAIN !!!
My buddy, who yearly has trailer spot @ Gold Beach won't be going until July and stays until mid-Sept., M/L, to garner some Coho as well as the 'nookies.
"Summer steelies" should be showing up in the next few weeks, but we are praying they are more plentiful than the "winter run" that is winding down.... have only hooked one in at least 8 (?)trips and failed to land it..... but it was a CHROME beauty, probably close to 10lbs (?)....such is the lament of an Oregon Steelhead aficionado... persistence is our watchword, optimistic is our demeanor.

My Dad would've said...."well Son,... it's keeping you out of the bars and off the street, isn't it ? That's always a good thing !"

Your Dad was a smart man Fix, I ran a delivery team for Beverages for almost 20 years and I don’t go into a Bar either unless they serve food and that’s where I want to eat. I know what they charge for drinks or a Beer, an I know What they Paid for it. I don’t mind somebody making a livin’ but I don’t think I need to make them Rich!
