O.H. Ivie lake
Anyone know who might know this Texas lake and that might have fished it.

I grew up in South Texas fishing all the major reservoirs and small lakes from the San Antonio area and surrounding area lakes to the Mexican border. My all time best Black Bass was caught in Choke Canyon lake and was 13.12 and the lake record for a couple of weeks. I’ve recently been researching O.H. Ivie lake in West Texas. Reports from others has folks catching 30 pound 5 fish stringers all the way up to 60lb stringers add the new lake record is reported to over 16lbs. I want to go fishing on OH Ivie but would like to get a little more info if possible
Pog: You are the first person I've heard mention this lake. I would Google the name, and try to find some of the guides who will obviouly be working the lake. Also, there are probably some bait and tackle shops in the vaciniy that might disclose some details when they aren't busy. Just Sayin...RJS
Hi and thanks for the suggestion but I’ve googled and watched a couple YouTube videos which is close to all there is and from what I can tell info about this Texas lake is at a premium. I’ve fished all my life in lakes from the other side of Houston Texas to the Mexican border from Sapata Texas to Delrio Texas and until recently I’ve never heard a word about this 19,000 acre West Texas Lake. That’s Sorta suspicious in my opinion.
I would add that I also called the Concho Marina and the young lady told me they were booked thru July. I told my brother this and he immediately replied that’s West Texas so unless something is going on there people wouldn’t be flocking to the area
friend of mine just got back from OH Ivie. They caught it just right with bass looking for spawning sights. Killed 'em on jig and pig. Had 2 over 12 and a bunch in the 6-10 lb range. Steve says it was the best fishing he has ever had (and he has fished virtually everywhere in Texas and Mexico.
That’s great!!!
Exactly what we’re looking for.
Fished a lot in 50 years and I can’t figure out why I’ve never heard of the lake and it’s in my back yard. Thank you
When something is this good you don’t want the world to find out is my guess! Just Sayin.... RJS
That’s probably pretty close to being the popular sentiment I suppose
"call it Paradise....kiss it goodbye"
Yep! Happened with the Garden of Eden! Just Sayin...RJS
I’m here going to look at lake now. Nothing really here that I can see
