Ivey....Thanks for the quick reply. Just moved to TN, i'm not a great fisherman but love doing it, mostly used to lily pads and grass beds, home lake is Tims Ford also, was told not a lot of shallow water fishing there and I would have to learn the lake, never fished for crappie before but advised lots in T/F and looking forward to eating them, wife gave me ok to buy a boat, thinking Lowe 175 maybe used, we'll be permanent residents on T/F in 6 months, what kind of boat do you fish with?, looking forward to one day meeting you.
Lou

Yea, we'll have to put together a trip. I'm Fishing a 20' Bumble Bee bass boat 225 mercury 4 stroke, used to tournament fish but it's still in good shape and payed for. I've been here on the lake for 5 years now but I've fished here since 1980 on and off. It is a deep lake that's a flood control lake so they draw it down 15 ft in the winter.
There are some really nice Crappie here and normally bigger than most lakes around. Woods Reservoir is close too and it's full of nice Crappie too and a little easier to pattern.
I'm down by the dam and about 800' from the "dam ramp" and use it mostly, what part of the lake will you be located?

The Hill is a great fishery Lots of Spotted bass and nice Smallmouth and some very good largemouth bass. It fishes a lot like Tim's Ford. Fished a tournament there a few times and the first I found an old rock wall that was flooded out, it ran way out in deep water on a point caught fish there every time I fished it.

You may know my buddy Fred Bunch? I head out your way a couple of times a year to fish the River Rats tournaments and hit Tims, Chic, and always Center Hill! I’m from Southern California... small, over pressured, mis managed lakes!

The Chic is great and managed well, Tims has got to where the wake boats have made it miserable in the summer so I night fish a lot during summer months. Haven't been to the Hill in several years but I know it's a great lake.

I fished Tims this past January... got a few nice smallmouth on Damiki blade baits... did much better at the Hill catching smallies, spots and largemouth with blade baits & tailspins... air temp 22, water temps 41-43! 🥶🎣

You didn't say which part of Tennessee. I moved to east Tennessee about 5 years ago and got a boat this past summer. I am on the Clinch River which is one of the feeders to Watts Barr lake. With the locks you can go up the TVA chain or down to the gulf of Mexico. Great fishing, my son got a 10 pound cat last summer, and there are very large striped bass. There are also everything from Sunnies to SMB to LMB to muskies, etc. Great fishing. I am in Oak Ridge which is near Knoxville.

Tims Ford, Center Hill Lake & Normandy Lake are in Central Tennessee... I’d suggest getting either the Hummingbird or Google Earth app (free) on your phone or computer. Then, you’ll be able to locate & identify every body of water in Tennessee within minutes!

Will do... I’ll be in Mexico for the summer ( surf fishing & surfing ) but will probably be out there sometime mid Fall in between bird hunting and bass fishing... (real Californian). I stay at my buddy Freds house in McMinnville... do you have a bass boat? If not, plenty of good ole boys I know do... I’ve been throwing huge swimbaits/glide baits lately... I wanna give em a go out there! Especially at Chic!
