All these distinct meaningful elements of speech come under one word. " Respect "

I to found it different in NC, FD. I am sure it is up here as well just not as wide spread as in your new location.

Do they refer to their parents as Moma and Daddy?

Well said Plumbob, it starts at home, but then you need to make sure the public school system doesn't erase it from their minds. My wife and I pay for our Granddaughter's education in a Christian School, as our daughter can't really afford it, and I couldn't be happier with the results. She is very loving and respectful to us and to her parents, always sending kind reminders that it's working. I say, thank God! Have a great day!

The Bible says it very clearly.

ā€œTrain up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.ā€

Your thought for the day and pic reminds me of a cool song by Jimmy Buffet. He wrote it for Marlo Thomas one year for her ā€œThanks for the Givingā€ program at St. Judeā€™s Hospital. The name of the song is ā€œAn Attitude of Gratitudeā€. Here it is:

Around this neck of the woods i always heard Dad when a father was being mentioned. When i was down south the locals would refer to their fathers as Daddy.

Call me anything you want just not late for a meal. Then again leftovers are good.
