What do you think of Saltwater Fish Bites?????

Doing a little surf fishing in a couple weeks and the infamous "they" claim that the artificial bait Fish Bites can be effective baits in saltwater surf. Anyone have experience or an opinion on these things? Thanks!

Don't ask me why, I think it's the smell, but the color seems to be a big factor too, they do work, big time. Don't leave home without them.

Fish like them. Hard to get off your hook, though because there is a fabric embedded in them.

Cut them off before they dry on. A Rapala scissors, the only kind that will cut braid that I'm aware of.

I haven't had any great success with it other than to hold shrimp on the hook.

Pretty decent bloodworm sub. Cur them into an inch or so piece and the work we for kingfish (whiting) and spot. Bigger pieces work for stripers.

I have used Bloodworm saltwater fishbites and they are fantastic. Don't think the fish know the difference between this and the real thing! Kind of hard to remove from the hook, though, since they are made on some kind of fabric mesh.

I've watched video after video of guys who use them in the surf and they leave little doubt that they actually work pretty darn good. I don't surf fish but I do use them when the target fish I'm after is something other than reds and trout. Whiteings, croakers, snappers, all like them and will take them with fishbytes alone or like folks say, to keep shrimp or cut bait on the hook. That nylon mesh they're made of is a bugger to get off the hook and that is part of their beauty.

I’ve used fish bites in the North Carolina surf...mostly the pink shrimp colored ones and the orange white sand flea ......have caught pompano, whiting, blow fish , flounder as as small sharks and rays...make sure you get fresh ones, the color should be bright and not faded....I usually throw them out at the end of the season...I usually buy at a tackle shop that has a high turn over....Walmart sometimes will have them on the shelf too long..I use on a high low rig.
