Health reasons prevent fried food in our house anymore. Please, please if you have a good or just mediocre recipe for Baked Crappie please share. Thank you in advance.

I normally cook mine in an air frier, Bread with small amount of egg or egg white and Planko bread crumbs season to your liking 7 minutes in the air fried at 375, no oil or grease involved and they are very good, cooked some last night. Don't crowd them in the frier and they cook up right. I'm sure this would work in a conventional oven you may have to adjust cook time.

place fish in baking dish, lemon and black pepper, slather with mayo, cover with shredded parmesan top with panko, bake at 425 degrees, 12 to 15 minutes . Enjoy

I like my crappie fillet's blackened in a cast iron skillet.
Coat each fillet with some Zatarains and place in a hot cast iron skillet that has been coated with olive oil (healthier) or butter ;-) Serve with capers and lemon :-)

This^^^^

Just did a bag of bluegill last night on the grill. But I use home made blackening season instead of zatarains.

Nice! I make my own too. I just mentioned Zatarains for easier recipe :-)

Gut and scale place in a glass baking dish. On top place onions, peppers and a jar of salsa. Cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 45 minutes on 350. Served with white rice or on a salad.
