Trying to find out where the salmon are in the willamette river. I'm from the east side of Oregon and will be traveling over next week. Thanks in advance.

It’s a little early to salmon fish the Willamette. To date (4-8) there have been only 146 counted at the falls. There are some winter steelhead moving through but the count hasn’t been great either. Good luck wherever you go. Ron
But they are being caught near the channel. Unfortunately the sea lions are in that part and in that section of the Columbia. Several weeks ago a 30# chinook was taken near Meldrum Bar. They are in the Willamette. You just have to be persistent and keep trying to find the right location and what they want that day. Line has to be in the water to have any success. Be confidant and enjoy your outing.
