Anybody know of any really good shore fishing areas in Tampa Bay area where there's some good action happening lately?
You might Google the bait stands in that area and ask them. Just Sayin...RJS

Just a hint on how to get more responses on your questions. Introduce yourself maybe talk about the type fish you like to catch, what you're using for bait. Most folks aren't gonna give up their best spots to someone they don't know. Get people interested in you and you'll get more in the way of informative comments.
I'm in TN so I'm not much help of the coast sorry.

You got a better shot of getting someone’s first born than a hot set of numbers

Honestly I'll put most anyone on my spots if they introduce themselves, talk about the fish they like to catch or anything else for just a minute and be friendly. Just to ask and not tell anything about yourself just don't make me feel like I need to share info.

Right on Ivey. Seems to be a lot of that now days.
You are totally right guys, my mistake. Well, I'm just one of the many frustrated fisherman here in Tampa. I have been living in Tampa,Florida for over 18 years now. I am always looking for that sweet spot where I can go out and catch some quality fish, even if it's only one. I have managed to catch something here and there, but nothing to brag about. I have not been able to catch any nice Pompano, Redfish or a Black drum, something I could brag about =)...Ever since I retired I have really gotten into fishing at least once every two weeks now. I have caught some trout, but as we know,I had to let them go. Most all I catch are Sail-cats,Sting-rays and a whole variety of trash fish... Now that the weather is getting a little warmer I can get out under the bridges on my lil' kayak,2 to 3 pilings away from shore to see if that helps some... Maybe I should just be happy with getting what I have been catching,It'll make catching the unexpected big'un more celebtaive I guess...LOL.
Anyways, continue trying I shall... Where there is a will there's a way and my nickname is Will...go figure. LOL
Tight lines ya'll and keep those rods bent...

Being retired myself I know funds are limited. However a half day with a charter might give you more knowledge of the area. Just a thought.

Will, I've had my dry spells also and I know others on the site have also. Since I'm in TN I can't help with your locations but one thing I normally do when my old holes dry up is try new spots. I'll read a little about the fish I'm looking for, water temps. they like type bottom they use that sort of thing. Even on the fresh water lakes I fish sometimes over time conditions change, lake beds silt in, temps aren't the same as last year that type stuff, things change. We have to observe conditions and change our tactics to meet the change around us. You may want to take a good look around the areas and shift some to find new spots to fish. Sorry I can't help more.
Calling your post out was not meant in a mean or challenging way, most here on the site will help others as much as possible. Hope I didn't come off that way but I've watched the posting here and posted for some time now and see lots asking for help. The guys who use your second post normally get a few answers. Welcome to the stage, great bunch of guys here.
Sure do hope your area isn't hit by the pollution from the fertilizer plants being dumped into Tampa Bay area right now, that's a shame.
👋 Hello, I'm a pastor in the Tampa juvenile detention centers and I'm relatively new at fishing in the Tampa Bay area. Any help getting to know some good spots to fish would be great. I've been all over cockroach Bay up to port Manatee. Not much luck at all. Any other suggestions please would really help 🙏
I have had some pretty decent luck on the north side of the Gandy bridge and the draw bridge at Honeymoon Island. Some people mention Fort de Soto also. That'll be my next visit sometime after mid December.to try to get on some Sheepshead (I've been told there's some really good spots there...). Of course there's also the Sunshine Skyway bridge. I know the south side is pretty promising, specially from evening to late night if the tide is moving, never on a slack tide...
Good luck and tight lines.
Wow! There are some good spots, Be sure to send back a thank you, if you are on to some hotspots. Just Sayin...RJS
You're much appreciated Ivey. I hadn't thought about what you said about how things tend to change in most areas. I'll be definitely keeping that in mind. Most people attribute the red tides affecting the area as a natural thing, but I always say, isn't that a coincidance that the damn red tide originates and is concentrated at the mouth of tampa bay?!? That's where the MOZAIC's plants are ! ! ! I'm sure some politicians or people that investigate these kinda things get a decent paycheck for looking the other way. Anyway, thanks for knowledge passed on by you,I'll keeep it in mind everytime I go out fishing again.
