I'm not sure about the new location specific thing. I understand a little about narrowing the focus but isn't it fun to hear about fishing in all parts of the country? All of us that contribute to the stage are from all around the country.
Some of you fish in two different parts of the country, winter and summer.

I totally agree I like to hear about fishing from all parts of the country. My thought with the location specific sticky threads is that they would get more of the 35,000 members to share knowledge. I know I really only contributed when I felt I had some beneficial knowledge and unfortunately I really only know my area. I read and enjoy it all!! And will continue to do so. But if we can extract more knowledge by giving specific areas more attention. Why not? I say all this without there being a new sticky thread that pertains to me. I suggested a Lake Erie thread to the administration. If you read this and think it’s a good idea as well PM the admin.
I think everything’s going to remain the same. They’re just giving us the opportunity to search a specific area if you wish too...🐟on

I think what brought this on was the fella that wanted to be removed from the forum because he couldn’t find anything or get a response from anyone from his specific area. 🤷♂️...🐟on

You may be right Dave, sometimes we tell them to search the members list, by location. I never heard a response if anyone ever made a connection, or even tried.
I notice many new members seem to think that this forum is specifically local to their location. I'm not sure where they get that idea. The 1st time I read the forum,it was obvious that it was coast to coast. I learned about international members later.
I don't know how well it will work out, with people who won't /can't put in their location, or even hit quote reply, even after being asked to do so.

Or it's their way of making up
for the many 'newbies' (and a
few older members) not putting their locations in their profiles ! This way, the answers can be directed to the areas where
they're most needed !
