I’m interested in fishing spots, preferred bait and rigs for the beaches and boat launches on and around route 98! Please respond with insight for the surrounding waters! Thanks Y’all 🎣
HOW bad is the red tide and release water at Piney Point affecting the fishing in Tampa Bay??
Venice and South fishing is poor unless you go out 30 miles but the wind kicks your butt. 12-18 mph. Mangrove fishing been light also.

Yes the winds are a pain. I go out of Gordon pass. Do much the same. It’s been so,so.
Yesterday just about everything was biting around the mouth of the river on into the gulf. A lot of snook and redfish.

Yes Gapo. I go out to man made reefs (rubble piles) out of Wiggins and New passes. Usually 3-10 miles. The boat club I belong to has a couple of twin powered boats equipped to go much further. I have one reserved in May with plans to fish a couple of wrecks off Sanibel/Fort Myers. These are around 50 miles out. Hoping for good weather. Will report back if all goes well. FWC has a published list of man made reefs as well as wrecks in the gulf with GPS data. Some data is old and the storms down here shift and cover up the rubble from year to year. The published numbers will get you in the general area, but I’ve found that you still have to do some searching when you hit them. Hope this helps.

I’m super jealous! I’ve traveled through the area a few times(gorgeous there), even worked there a tiny bit. Fishing was always from beach or along creeks, wishing I had my boat there.
God bless you; enjoy.
Fished out of Ozello this morning, Jacks and Ladyfish biting. No luck with reds or trout. Still a good day.

Looking for any inshore fishing tips in central Florida. Heading to Homosassa next week. Wondering if fish are back in creeks or out in mangroves and flats. Thanks for any info.
I m in Panama City....the reds are in 4 to 5 feet of water and moving shallower,,,hitting on gold spoons, suspending swim baits and live pinfish. Shark fishing the at night is hot also.

Great looking red there Nit. Thanks for the pic and info. Wish we could keep those down here in Bonita. I’m hopeful the FWC moratorium will expire May 31st!
