Best fishing ever Loc: So California

Bull dam and the white river in Arkansas is a wonder land for fishing. Just wondering if there are any pilots on the stage that ever been there. Or any non pilots ever fished there?

I will be there about 5 miles down river in two weeks. I have a place at White Hole on the river. I was hoping the water would be wadeable but after the lake has gone up 11 feet in two weeks I will probably get the little jon boat out for use. Gaston's is a fantastic place to dine. I have been there many times over the years. Some of the best fishing on the White is right in the stretch in front of Gaston's and yes they have a nice little air field there. If you are thinking about going there , give them a call or contact the Eastwald at Bull Shoals Lake Boat Dock. They are full service for the lake and river and have their Lighthouse resort. Let me know if I can give you more info about the area.

Hello MAS,
I'm new to the stage and been reading all posts and haven't seen nothing about the white river yet. I like to fly but I'm not an aircraft owner plus I'm not skilled enough to land on a grass runway.
I been to Gastons twice when visiting a friend in Mena ar. Last time was about four years back right after a major flood. I really loved the area and plan on returning sometime this year.
Lucky you for having a place there at white hole. I never explored the area past Gastons.
I seen that fly fishing is very popular on the river, is that how you fish it?

Hey Bf we only spin fish for trout there. We like to wade but they have been crazy the way they have been running water the past several years. We still do pretty good at catching a limit of decent fish. Always fun and beautiful down in Arkansas. Here are a few we caught a month ago.

Great pics!! Looks like fun. It seems like every time I go trout fishing I have my sons and grandkids with me so I spend most of my time clearing there line if you can expect.

I would suggest you contact the Eastwald family at Bull Shoals Lake Boat Dock and get one of their fine guides to take you out for a half day trip on the White River and see how they rig and find the fish. It would a great experience for you and you can pick up on how they attempt to locate the fish for you. Something I think you might really enjoy doing. You can pick up a lot of info and then on future trips to the area you may want to try some of the other resorts in the area. There are 3 nice resorts on the road to my property. Stetson's, Sportsman's, and White Hole. You can check out their facilitys on their websites and they all offer guide services or they all have rental boats for guests. It is a great area to vacation in.
