Have a nice 7’ lite salt water Penn combo,my wife snapped 12” off the tip with the car door. The break is between two eyelets, surely I can use a small metal sleeve with glue for a splice. Thanks. Russ

Or just find a tip that fits and glue it on and have a 6 foot rod

Glue on a new tip would be better. I've done it with a break like that. If you use metal sleeve it will probably break again rod wont flex at that junction. You'll have a 6' with less action but you'll have a rod. When you put a new tip on slide a small pc of shrink wrap on blank after glueing tip on slide shrink wrap up some on tip some on blank apply heat. When it shrinks down you'll be good. I have a couple rods I've patched yrs ago. Good luck👍👍

That 6' rod would make for a nice top water set up.

When the length of a rod is shortened due to breakage, the action of the rod changes as well. I usually will only re-tip with a new eyelet if I have lost 3" of the rod or less.

It was a two-piece Rod you could order the top section from Penn
