Just got to Fla 8 weeks ago. Have seen small boats and kayaks fishing with gators present! Safe?

Safe or not, if you want to fish freshwater in paradise(Fl) you'll have to fish with the gators considering every lake, pond, river, sinkhole here has some resident gators

Welcome aboard poppajohn. Learn to unhook the fish in the boat as the gators might want a little finger snack.

Larger gators are very territorial this time of year. I won't fish if I see a large one present.

Being a yaker it would be NFW on fishing with the gators. To close to the water for my comfort. Jon boat yes, kayak No.
