Taking the grand kids to the pier tomorrow- any tips? Anyone been there lately?

Ma33ie:2. I know absolutely nothing about fishing in California but I do know that shrimp are the universal bait for salt water species. You might check with the local bait stand for the best bait. Just Sayin...RJS

Sloshbug just posted a thread bout him catchin a 4 pounder at the Antioch marina. Look up his post and maybe PM him and get dome info on the area.

Good luck with the kids it’s always fun and a wonderful time out there with the family it’s been over 20 years since I fished the Antioch Pier but I know that grass shrimp 🦐 work well there for Striped Bass

Pick up some anchovies they work well at the pier use smaller hooks 2 or 4 they do catch however some bigger stripers there Robert S this is the Sacramento River at the pier they have a tide but water is brackish or fresh
